Riga-Fede disease: a review of the literature and a description of clinical cases

Relevance. Riga-Fede disease (RFD) is a rare pathology that develops as result of trauma to the mucous membrane tongue ventral surface with sharp edges natal, neonatal or primary teeth erupting in time and manifests form erosion sublingual fibrous lesion an ulcerated surface. Purpose. To analyze literature present our own RFD clinical cases. Material methods. A search was performed articles published 2001-2023 on research topic main scientific databases (PubMed, E-library, Google Scholar, etc.). We analyzed data from 68 publications presented three cases children aged 5, 6 9 months. Results. Analysis revealed different approaches diagnosis treatment children. Pronounced tooth mobility, ineffective infant feeding presence neurological diseases patients were indications for extraction teeth, which caused development.
